Windows 10 isn’t new to us, thanks to the developer preview followed by new builds. Now, Microsoft is holding a launch event for Windows 10 consumer preview in January, according to a new report at The Verge.

As per the report, though Microsoft will be present in the Consumer Electronics Show next year, it will hold a separate press event, sometime in January, to unveil the consumer preview of the latest iteration of world’s most popular desktop OS.

Not only will Microsoft discuss the features it had showcased in the developer preview version, it is also expected to discuss a new touch interface, embedded in Windows 10, called Continuum.

Apart from this, you can also expect details regarding Windows Phone and tablets, and quite possibly, dashboard updates for X-Box One. Microsoft has designed Windows 10 to run on multiple devices, including tablets and X-Box One.

The official announcement regarding the event is expected to come by the end of this year.
