Xiaomi’s latest addition to its mobiles portfolio in India is the Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G. The Redmi Note will go on sale in India through Flipkart at a price of Rs. 8999.
The Redmi Note features a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display (1280 x 720 pixels resolution) and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for the protection. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek’s octa-core processor with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The phone also supports microSD card to expand the storage.
As far its camera specs are concerned, it has a 13-megapixel rear snapper and 5-megapixel front facing camera. Running Android 4.3 with MIUI on top, the device supports dual SIM connectivity and is powered by a 3100mAh battery.
The company has also announced the 4G variant of the smartphone in India. The phone supports both, TDD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3). It runs on 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad core processor instead of MediaTek’s octa core processor. It will go on sale in India from the second week of December for Rs. 9999. It will be available on Flipkart and Airtel stores.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note will go on sale from 2nd December on Flipkart and the registrations will open from tomorrow at 6 PM. Considering the price of the phone, it will compete against Asus Zenfone 5 and Moto G in India.
