Realme, a smartphone brand which started off as an Oppo sub-brand earlier this year for the online-only retail in India, has travelled a long way after splitting from its parent company and is now present in around six countries.
So far, the company has launched five smartphones — Realme 1, 2, 2 Pro, C1, and U1. Most the phones from Realme have been well-received and have topped the best-sellers list.
Now, a new leak suggests that Realme is now gearing up to launch a new entry-level smartphone named Realme A1. If true, this will be the company’s second entry-level phone after the Realme C1.
A report indicates that the upcoming Realme A1 will be positioned below the Realme U1 and thus, will be priced under Rs. 10,000. However, several media reports indicate that the phone could be priced around Rs. 5,000-6,000.
Additionally, the phone is also being speculated to come with better specifications than Realme 2. Further, it is tipped to come in two colors — Black and Yellow. Other than these, no more information about the Realme A1 is available yet.
During the recent launch of Realme U1, the first phone to be powered by MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India said that the company plans to launch more phones with MediaTek processor. So, it is likely that the A1 could be powered by a MediaTek chipset.
Currently, the Realme C1 is the company’s most affordable smartphone, priced at Rs. 7,499. It comes with 6.2-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. It packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP + 2MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera and 4,230mAh battery.
