Today, at an event being organized in New Delhi, Lenovo-owned Motorola brand has launched its uber-budget and feature-packed Moto C Plus smartphone in India. It is a completely new phone lineup, debuted earlier last month, and supplements the existing Moto E lineup of devices. It has been launched as a Flipkart-exclusive, for the price of ₹6,999.
As for the specifications, the Moto C Plus is the elder and more specced-out variant of the Moto C, which also made its debut in May earlier this year. The device is known to sport a micro-textured back panel and a vivid 5-inch HD IPS display, with 720×1280 pixels screen resolution. It measures 144×72.3×10 mm and weighs 162 grams, sporting the iconic Moto design aesthetic.
As for the internals, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This can, however, be expanded up to 32GB with the use of an external microSD card. It brings along a dual SIM slot, which isn’t hybrid, meaning you can use two SIMs alongside your external storage card.
As for the optics, the Moto C Plus includes an 8-megapixel rear camera lens with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, 71-degree field of view and an LED flash. The selfie camera, on the other hand, is a measly 2-megapixel lens and boasts of the inclusion of a LED front flash.
The highlight of the Moto C Plus will, however, have to be its massive 4,000 mAh battery — something that is uncommon in such budget devices, expect for the ones manufactured by Chinese smartphone makers. It packs all major connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack and 4G VoLTE supprort.
The Moto C Plus is being made available on Flipkart in three color variants — Pearl White, Fine Gold or Starry Black. Motorola has decided not to debut the Metallic Cherry color of the device in the country. The first sale for the ‘Moto C Plus’ kicks off tomorrow at 12 noon and comes with a cohort of offers.
