moto z2 play, z2 play, moto z2

Just days after releasing the Moto Z2 Play, the Lenovo-owned smartphone company is making a return to reveal yet another device from their lineup. The interwebs are flooding with press invites to the upcoming launch event, which is scheduled for June 27. And from the looks of it, Motorola is gearing up to finally launch the much-awaited successor of Moto Z — the Moto Z2.

Though the invite (via MobileXpose) only reads ‘Motorola is back’ and doesn’t mention the device that will be launched, the Moto device being held by the woman would feel familiar to Moto Z2 renders leaked online — which may also be the Moto Z2 Force.

And that’s not it, if you look closely at the device in her hands then you’d notice that the camera bump on the back shows off dual-lens camera setup. And this is one of the most significant rumored features of the upcoming device, which belongs to the Z series.

While there is no concrete info on the internal specs of the device, it is believed that Moto Z2 will be specced out. It will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It will sport a 5.5-inch QuadHD display and as mentioned before — a dual-lens camera setup on the rear. Another major leak for the device has tipped that the Moto Z2 will be as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S8 — a bold remark to make.

Well, if you ask me, this year has been completely loaded with back-to-back Moto devices launches. Kicking off the release with the ultra-budget Moto E4 smartphone lineup, followed by the mid-range devices in the form of Moto G5 a couple months ago and high-end Moto Z Play earlier last week. And now we’re basking in the glory of this invite that’ll further add to the company’s arsenal for this year. It has already been reiterated by Lenovo that it will be focusing heavily on its Motorola lineup.

Stay tuned for more updates and return back for info on the device Motorola launches on June 27.
