Asus ZenFone Live, which is reportedly world’s first smartphone with hardware-optimized, real-time beautification technology, was unveiled today at a press event in India.

With a 5-inch HD IPS display and a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, the 120-gram smartphone measures 141.2 x 71.74 x 7.95. The IPS display is equipped with a Bluelight filter for eye protection and 2.5D curved glass. ZenFone Live comes with a front camera of 5MP, coupled with 1.4-micron pixel sensor, soft-light LED flash,  f/2.0 aperture, 82-degree field of view and auto-focus. The 13MP rear camera features a f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash.

It features Asus’ new live beautification app, BeautyLive, which has been specifically designed to shoot live videos. The company states,

Just like digital makeup foundation and glamour, the BeautyLive feature smooths facial blemishes in real time and streams your live selfie video on popular social media platforms.

The users can directly link this app to their Facebook account. Once they do this, settings appear in their Facebook Live video, following which, they can choose skin beautification option on a scale of 1 to 10.

ZenFone Live runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 2GB RAM and inbuilt storage of 16GB that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The connectivity options on the phone include GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, and a 3.5mm headset jack.

Supporting Accelerator, E-Compass, Proximity, and Ambient light sensors, it is powered by 2650mAh battery which shall last an entire day. It provides an outstanding standby time of 158.8 hours and has a dual-SIM slot (Nano+Micro). Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the handset operates along with Asus’ ZenUI 3.5 skin. Asus also says,

[ZenFone Live] features a very loud mono 5-magnet loudspeaker which produces high-fidelity sound with very less distortions compared to the competition.

Along with the smartphone, you will get a pair of MEMS microphones, especially for video recording, as Asus puts, it will “reduce noise and ensure that your voice is heard.”
