With Samsung’s latest smartphones being available in more and more countries, the company has now officially released kernel sources of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus Exynos variants.

The release of kernel sources for the devices will be very much useful for developers who work on delivering custom ROMs and several other customization for the smartphones.

Other than developing custom ROMs, the kernel sources can have several other uses, but mostly for Android developers. With the use of kernel source, developers can now optimize their mobile apps for use on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones.

Kernel can be described as the heart of an operating system. It is that part of the code which does process management, memory management (RAM, ROM) as well as hardware management.

The released kernel sources for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus Exynos variants can be found here for the Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F) and over here for the Samsung Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955F).
