After witnessing success with the Axon 7 smartphone, Chinese smartphone maker  ZTE has now announced a new upgraded model of the same, dubbed as ZTE Axon 7s.

The phone comes with a 5.5-inch QHD display with screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. This time, the company has upgraded the processor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 from SD 820 that we saw in Axon 7. It, however, lacks the power and performance of the latest and greatest Snapdragon 835 processor.

The Axon 7 was originally launched with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. But, the company launched a limited edition of the device a few months later with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a Force Touch display.

ZTE has not revealed if those features are available on the Axon 7s as well or not. Flaunting a metal body, the smartphone comes with a 3,250 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner located on the back, below the camera.

Another change compared to its predecessor is the redesigned speaker grill on the phone. However, this model too features a dual-camera setup on the back. The device ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS on board, which can be upgraded to the latest Android Nougat version.

ZTE has not shared more information regarding the smartphone. As of now, it looks like the ZTE Axon 7s might only be available for government use in China. Thus, it won’t be available to the “regular” consumers. We’ll update you once we gather more information on this smartphone.
