nokia 3, nokia 6

HMD Global launched three new Android devices namely Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and a global version of the Nokia 6 (previously launched in China) at MWC 2017. Just as the iconic brand’s strong comeback surprised everyone, it now intends to rattle the smartphone industry with a huge simultaneous global release. HMD plans to roll out the devices in 120 markets at the same time during Q2 2017.

The brand-owner is currently piling up the phones to begin such a massive rollout in May 2017. A spokesperson from HMD, quoting the company’s plans to Nokiapoweuser confirmed the development. The spokesperson said,

HMD has ambitious plans to release Nokia 3, 5 and 6 in 120 markets at same time in Q2 2017. This is ambitious because HMD is de facto a start-up, though it has support from Nokia and Foxconn.

While you will need to shell out €229 for the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and 3 will set you back by €189 and €139 respectively. The 3 devices will all feature the Android Nougat 7.1.1 OS, along with monthly security updates from Google. What’s more, all of the devices will pack the Google Assistant as well. The unbreakable Nokia 3310 has also been rebooted alongside these devices and is expected to roll out along with them.

The intended rollout was also advertised on the company’s official Twitter handle, where it boasted that it will provide quality phones at an affordable price range. It certainly wants to ensure that the message reaches fans across the world, especially the ones who have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on these devices once again.

If the company is able to pull it off as planned, the other brands, especially Chinese phone makers offering low-budget smartphones will witness a sudden decline in sales. Though chances are strong enough that different markets may get different dates considering variance in country policies and market access. Also, HMD Global will have to increase production to meet consumer demand across he globe. Meanwhile, you can now pre-register for the devices by visiting this link.
