The country’s entrepreneurial initiative Startup India has now partnered with San Francisco-based Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center to launch the Milestone Makers programme in India. The said programme rewards and celebrates the growth achievements and business developments by early-to-mid-stage founders in their respective fields.

This would be the very first event organized in partnership with Nasdaq in India. It will be conducted in New Delhi, sometime in May 2017. A similar initiative was taken by the non-profit organization in San Fransico last year.

Established in 2014, Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center offers mentorship, guidance and networking opportunities to new and aspiring entrepreneurs. The institution is backed by Nasdaq Educational Foundation, which serves the greater Bay Area community through entrepreneurial education and versatile startup events. It has already started accepting applications, as well as nominations for May 2017 cohort from early to mid-stage founders in India.

The latest collaboration further promoting the country’s fledgling startup ecosystem across the globe. Speaking of the same, Yatin K Thakur, Founder of Startup India Advisory Services said,

With the current entrepreneurship boom, there are a lot of innovative ideas that without proper execution and customer access are resulting in a higher failure rate among startups in India. We are excited to partner with Nasdaq on the Milestone Makers program to support companies in establishing a clear vision along with a sustainability plan.

So far, the center has spread its reach to more than 3,000 entrepreneurs via 200 programs. This new programme aims to select 25 founders who will be guided along a custom learning path. Both the platforms will nurture the efforts of each selected founder for a time frame of 12 weeks providing expertise and meaningful entrepreneurial education. Each entrepreneur will be supervised by an individual coach who will act as a sounding board.

The key attraction for the initiative is its network of support. The founding member will be provided exclusive access to state-of-the-art resources —all valued at approximately $250,000. Unlike other accelerator programmes, the Makers Milestone will grant three to four business mentors to chosen founders coupled with a customized set of classes. This initiative sounds like an alluring opportunity for developing startups, who’re facing difficulties to cope up with the present competition in the market.
