Emojis have gotten common to the point where they form an essential part of any conversation — unless of course, you are dealing with an angry boss. Giphy is now attempting to get stickers to make the transition to being dynamic and animated as well and towards the same, has made a couple of announcements.

So first off, Giphy has launched 12 all new sticker applications. Each of them is priced at 99 cents and features a slew of animated stickers that can be dragged and positioned anywhere on the screen. In case you are wondering, these 99 cents ass up to a lot….eventually. Ask line for instance. The company generated almost 70 million in revenue from sticker sales in 2015 alone. Giphy wont be taking this path though and all the revenues will go directly to the artists.

The company is also developing a software that will allows folks with insubstantial technical knowledge to create and get content like sticker packs running on App Store. The basic premise of such a platform would be enabling artists to focus on what they do best, that is art. The tech end on the other hand, will be dealt with by Giphy engineers.

As far as Giphy’s part in this is concerned, well, the company isn’t really hard-pressed for money at present After all, it raised over $120 million only last year. However, getting creators easier access to Store will allow the platform to induct a stream of brand new stickers into its own database as well.

This particular project is being handled by Giphy Arts, which also manages art and community at the company.. The same department also invites and exhibits new GIFs created by artists the world over. Each of them receives a mission and may even be invited to work with the company.

Meanwhile, do check out the new sticker packs on the iMessage App Store.
