It has been a long five years since the last mainline Zelda game was released, and fans are more than eager to get their paws on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild immediately when it launches early next month along with the Switch. However, there are fresh reports under circulation that the Wii U version of the game has already been leaked online.

A compressed file of the Wii U version of the Breath of the Wild has been spotted online, according to this report from My Nintendo News. It’s currently thought that the game is not yet in a playable state, but tech savvy fans have already begun tinkering around with the internal files to see what they can uncover.

While it doesn’t yet seem possible to initialise the game, people have easily been able to open up individual folders to get a sneak peak at some content from the upcoming game that hasn’t yet been showcased in any of the trailers or gameplay footage. A high quality image of the game’s supposed title screen is being treated as the official smoking gun that confirms that this leak is legitimate.

This would mean that all of you Zelda fans need to be on your toes and lookout for potential spoilers on the final stretch toward the game’s release. Anyone that plans on going into the game fresh should be aware that there is now credible information out in the open that might impede their ability of doing so.

Adding to the all the confusion is the fact that not all of the information that’s being spread around is coming from these leaks. Though it does seem that a version of the game has been leaked, opportunists are currently taking advantage of the situation to proliferate fake “spoilers.”

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be launching for both the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch on March 3, 2017.
