At the Windows 10 event, held in the October 2016 in New York City, Microsoft announced that the Windows 10 creator update AKA  “Redstone 2″ will be released in the early 2017. Well, the target dates were not confirmed by them, but as per the sources, the updates will hit the markets in April.

Its always a difficult task to precisely spot one date for the release of a software as they rend to change very frequently before an official announcement, but a leaked news states that April is the target month for the launch of Redstone 2. The version number for the update is said to be 1704 for April. This puts it one month ahead of the initial guesstimate, which was putting 1703 as the build number.

This also reminds us of a similar incident from last year where Microsoft changed the Xbox’s Anniversary update release from 1607 to 1608. Just to make it clear to our readers, the ’17’ of the version number indicates the year, and ’04’ the month of the release of the update. Hence, the version number also signifies the date of release.

Meanwhile, the Creators Update is anticipated to be feature locked in the January itself, which means most of the shipping features will be existing in it by that time. But Microsoft will be busy finalizing things that includes debugging and polishing of the update.

Preparations for the next update,”Redstone 3”, has already begun, and is expected to be launched by the end of 2107. However, considering the uncertainties in the software release schedule, speaking of a release date at this point in time wouldn’t be quite possible. However, the new update is expected to be loaded with a wide range of amazing features, including a better design language for the OS.

It should also not be forgotten that Microsoft holds all the rights of shuffling its plans, and the release date could be modified as per their convenience.
