Zuk, the fully owned subsidiary of Lenovo has been trying to make its mark — quite like its parent — in the premium segment with its smartphones. After launching a couple of devices, the company has now announced Zuk Edge, which priarily takes on the trend of sporting very thin bezels.
The phone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and has a screen-to-body ratio of 86.4 percent with just 1.63 mm frame. It comes with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor. Considering the pricing, the Zuk Edge could be the cheapest smartphone to come with SD 821 processor.
Coming to the camera, the smartphone features a 13 Megapixel primary sensor with LED flash, 1.12nm, f/2.2 aperture and an 8 Megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It runs on latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS with company’s own ZUI 2.5 on top.
The Zuk Edge has Dirac HD Sound for Hi-Fi Audio and thankfully, the phone also has the traditional 3.5mm audio jack. The phone is powered by a 3,100 mAh battery supporting Quick Charge 3.0. Connectivity features on the phone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and USB Type-C.
Fort the added security feature, the phone comes with a fingerprint sensor. It also packs heart rate sensor with Oxygen Level monitor and a UV Sensor.
The Zuk Edge smartphone will be available in two colours — Ceramic White and Titanium Black. The phone is priced at 2299 Yuan (approx. Rs. 22,990) for the 4GB RAM variant and 2499 Yuan (approx. Rs. 24,990) for the 6GB RAM variant.
Apart from this standard edition, Lenovo has also made a custom Lee Min Ho edition called the Zuk Edge L, which will be available starting from January 1st. While Zuk has already launched a couple of smartphones in India, there is no word on the pricing and availability of Zuk Edge in India.
