zarget seed funding

After raising $1.5 million seed funding in May this year, Zarget, a SaaS platform which helps marketers to optimize web pages and conversations, has now secured $6 million in its Series A round of funding.

The funding round was led by Sequoia India, with the participation of its existing investors Accel Partners and Matrix Partners. Shailesh Lakhani, Managing Director, Sequoia Capital India Advisors, stated,

Zarget has an exceptionally talented team who’ve spent the past 10 years developing business automation software that’s already in use by leading enterprises today. Sequoia is excited to partner with a team with such proven capabilities and believe their marketing platform will become an essential fixture within the SMB market for many years to come.

With this new capital, the startup will now be able to scale its marketing automation products and help small businesses easily optimize their web presence in real-time without requiring any coding skills.

The company will firstly focus on building multiple products and secondly reaching global markets. Arvind Parthiban, co-founder & CEO, Zarget, said,

The investment will be used to build bigger modules in the same space to create holistic conversion rate optimisation software with modules such as mobile marketing automation and others.

Just a few years ago, I was a marketer facing the same challenges affecting marketers today – desperate to improve my campaigns in real-time, but without the tools, IT skills, or budget to make it happen efficiently. Our aim is to make it easy and affordable for any person or business to access the solutions they need to increase engagement and drive revenue across their websites.

Founded in February 2015 by Arvind Parthiban, Naveen Venkatesan, and Santhosh Kumar, Zarget has created a tool that captures a website visitor’s usage patterns. This would be particularly useful for marketers who have to sell products online, like those in software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies where the entire sales process happen online.

Zarget provides stats and analytics to help businesses influence buying behavior of visitors positively. The platform also allows companies to perform A/B testing where two versions of a web page are compared to see which performs better.

The platform is purposely built for e-commerce and Internet-based companies and is intended for use by marketers, product managers, and web designers. To make the process easier, the company has also introduced a Chrome plugin.

The startup generates revenue by charging the clients for the number of visitors for whom the experiment is run. In the current year, it is focusing on strengthening its position in the market and then subsequently introducing more products.

Zarget claims to have more than 1,000 customer signups in 10 countries, which includes brands like Landesk in the US, BizTalk360 in the UK, Freshdesk in India, and Buscape in Brazil. In terms of revenue, it claims to be posting 200% month-on-month growth and has raised $7.5 Mn to date.
