After teasing its upcoming On series smartphone as a Flipkart exclusive, Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy On Nxt with a price tag of Rs. 18,490. While the company has launched the smartphone, it is not yet available for purchase. The product listing page on Flipkart still says “coming soon”.
The smartphone packs a 5.5 inch Full HD display with screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It also has a 2.5D Gorilla Glass screen on top for added protection. Under the hood, it is powered by Samsung’s own 1.6 GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage, but can be further expanded up to 256GB using a micro SD card. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0, with its custom TouchWiz skin on top.
On the imaging front, the phone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, along with LED flash. At the front side, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The camera comes with enhanced modes such as palm and gesture support, wide angle selfie and beautifying effects, among others.
The dual SIM smartphone is powered by a 3300mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to 21 hours of 3G talk time and up to 15 hours of internet usage over LTE. The company has also introduced Ultra Data Saving (UDS) Mode for cost effective 4G experience. This mode allows users to save up to 50% mobile data through compression technology.
The smartphone packs usual set of connectivity options, including GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Wi-Fi Direct but lacks NFC. The home button on the phone also houses a fingerprint sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy On Nxt will be available in two colour variants — Gold and Black. The phone, priced at Rs. 18,490, will go on sale in India from 24th October. This is the second On series smartphone launched by Samsung this month. During the Big Billion Sale on Flipkart, it had launched Samsung Galaxy On8.
