One of the favorite laptop of many, the XPS 13, is getting an upgrade. Dell has announced an upgraded model of its XPS 13 laptop with latest Intel’s technology inside. It will also come with a sweet new colour option — ‘Rose Gold’.

One of the major highlights of the laptop is the inclusion of Intel’s 7th generation Kaby Lake processors that promises faster performance and longer battery life. Intel claims that their Kaby Lake CPUs will wake the laptop from sleep in 0.5 seconds, and also aid users in editing 4K video eight times faster.

While the laptop comes with a few updates, most of the specs remains unchanged. The ‘basic’ XPS 13 still comes with a 1080p display, a Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB of solid-state drive. You have the option to choose from Intel’s Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 configurations, with 4GB / 8GB / 16GB options for RAM and 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB for flash storage.

If you need speedier CPUs, a 3,200 x 1,800 touchscreen, up to 16GB of RAM and a maximum 1TB SSD, you’ll have to pay more. Also, if you wish to stand out from the crowd with the new rose gold model, you’ll have to pay premium price for that as well.

Intel’s HD Graphics 650 handles the graphical end. Dell has also improved the Wi-Fi performance, thanks to the Killer 1535 AC hardware. For the full HD display model, the company claims battery life of around 22 hours. Focusing on video and web browsing alone, Dell estimates the new XPS 13 can last for 13 hours straight.

The refreshed XPS 13 will begin shipping from October 4th for prices starting at $799. However, if you opt for the rose gold model, you’ll have to pay $1,499.99.

This new Dell XPS 13 isn’t the only laptop to come with the latest Intel processors. Lenovo’s Yoga 910, which comes with edge-less display and Razer Blade Stealth also comes with Intel 7th gen processors.
