Today, Samsung took the wraps off its flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, probably Korean giant’s biggest ever bet t regain ist lion’s share in country’s smartphone market. Both the phones were announced at Unpacked event in MWC 2015 in Barcelona.
Both the smartphones will go on sale in India from April 10. The Galaxy s6 is priced at Rs. 49,900, Rs. 55,900 and Rs. 61,900 for the 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB model respectively. The Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at Rs. 58,900 for 32 GB model, Rs. 64,900 for 64 GB model and Rs. 70,900 for 128 GB model.
This time, Samsung ditched its usual plastic material for the phone and has instead used metal and glass. It also features a complete new design of the phone. The glass at front and back of the phone is Gorilla Glass 4 from Corning.
The S6 features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display with a pixel density of 577ppi. This time, Samsung has opted for its own Exynos 7420 octa-core (2.1GHz quad-core+1.5GHz quad-core) chipset along with 3 GB RAM.

It is powered by a 2,550 mAh non-removable battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode and support for wireless charging.
It runs on Android Lollipop with the company’s own TouchWiz skin on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, NFC, IR Blaster, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It also comes with a finger print sensor just like its predecessor but the company improved it and now it requires users to just touch it instead of swiping finger on it.
The S6 Edge comes with almost same specifications. The only difference is that it has a curved screen on both edges of the display and is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.
