Blackberry has now rolled out an update to its entire range of BlackBerry 10 devices such as the Z10, Q10 and Z30, with the new update allowing users to access Android apps on the Amazon App store. The Canadian smartphone maker also rolled out its previously introduced feature, Blend.
With the new BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1 update, user can not only access apps available on the Blackberry World App Store, they can also access Amazon’s app store. This allows users to gain access to a host of android apps which were previously unavailable.
Apart from its Android surprise, Blackberry also rolled out the very impressive, Blend. Blend allows Blackberry owners to read and respond to mails, get message notifications, text and other messages, while also allowing to access files, calendars, contacts and other media, on whatever device one is using. The silver lining above this all, is that Blend is a cross-platform feature, which means whether you are on a Mac or a Windows PC, Blend will seamlessly ‘blend’ between your device and your computer.
With this new update, Blackberry is also coming up with its own personal digital assistant, called BlackBerry Assistant. While this may seem like an ancestral version of what Microsoft, Apple or Google offer, it is still a welcome addition for Blackberry owners.
BlackBerry said subject to carrier approvals, the software upgrade will begin to roll out to customers around the world, starting coming Thursday.
