Redmi 1S, which is priced at a rock-bottom Rs.5,999, was expected to such a response, considering the kind of specifications it provides, at such a phenomenal price. It features a 4.7-inch HD 720p display, 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 2,000mAh battery.
These specifications are seriously hard to come by at this kind of pricing and this exactly what Xiaomi’s strategy has been. Consider Redmi 1S or the Mi3 or any other Xiaomi phone out there in other markets, aggressive pricing, coupled with a good MIUI interface, has led to huge sales of Xiaomi’s phone.
