Facebook, live 360

A few months after Facebook first launched the Live 360 feature in December, the company has announced that it is releasing it to every profile and page on its platform. Facebook also said that it will be integrating with several leading 360-degree camera providers to make the experience seamless for its users.

Announcing the feature, Facebook said:

Today we’re excited to make Live 360 available globally to all Profiles and Pages. Now, anyone with a 360 camera can go live in 360 degrees on Facebook.

The list of cameras compatible with this feature include Samsung Gear 360 (2017), Giroptic IO, Insta360 Air, ALLie Camera, Z CAM S1 and Nokia OZO.

To use this feature, simply log in to Facebook, set post privacy and write a description. Once you have done all this, you are ready to go live using one of the aforementioned 360-degree cameras.  Once you are live, you can also see comments and reactions directly from the camera interface itself.

The company has also introduced spatial audio. As the name implies, spatial audio is basically the audio counterpart to 360-degree video. The company has promised to release more information about introducing surround sound through an Ambisonic microphone. To get more information about the same, make sure you visit Facebook’s resource about spatial audio in the company’s Spatial Workstation Facebook Group.
