Below is our recent interview with Deepak Singh, CTO & President of Adeptia.
Q: It’s great to speak with you again. How do you see security’s role in corporations as we see more businesses suffer from data loss risks?
At Adeptia we are finding that businesses are taking security very seriously, as they should, in making software purchase decisions. Their goal is not just to prevent data loss from hacking but also to ensure data integrity. As an enterprise-class software product, Adeptia has to lead in all aspects of security such as – Authentication, Authorization, Auditing and Encryption.
- Authentication deals with user management and verifying that only properly authenticated users have access to the application, its capabilities and the business data. Much more than strong passwords, this deals with an application such as Adeptia to support multiple Identity Management Systems or trusted Identity Providers (IdP) as most organizations have centralized user management.
- Authorization relates to what each user can do in the application and to ensure a user’s access is restricted to the functions and data that they need access to for their jobs. This requires support for multiple types of roles and granular access control related to privileges that are allowed for those roles.
- Auditing relates to keeping an accounting and track of what actions are performed by users in the application. This is important in enterprise-class software because many regulatory and compliance requirements such as PCI and HIPAA require maintaining record of what each user did so history can be traced back to an action or a decision.
- Encryption is of course central aspect of data security as it ensures that business data is safe even if the application is hacked or the data is captured in flight. End-to-end data security requires not just encryption during data movement but also Encryption at Rest (EAR).
Adeptia works with our customers to ensure they have the right security framework in place and have the policies, procedures and best practices around security as they deploy and work with Adeptia software.
Q. How is Adeptia’s no-code integration approach helping companies with commercial success?
With Adeptia’s no-code integration approach, enterprises can achieve their digital transformation objectives by automating workflows, creating connections, and scaling them for monetizing B2B ecosystems. It helps them provide a better service to their customers and improve the customer experience while having the flexibility to go after new business opportunities.
Further, our no-code approach puts an organization’s IT in the governance role by permitting business users to handle data exchange management along with related operational tasks, thus eliminating Shadow IT and delivering outstanding customer experience.
Along with this, Adeptia platform enables a one-of-a-kind self-service integration feature that allows business users to integrate their business ecosystems, making them easier to do business with – sans the need for using programming heavy or IT intensive operations.
Q. How important it is for organizations to adopt an outward-in approach?
To understand this, I must first shed some light on what an outward-in approach is. In my opinion, it is a customer driven paradigm that stands on three important foundations:
- Customer needs
- Customer value creation
- Customer experiences
This approach removes the customers’ passivity, fostering an environment that encourages collaborative growth and integrated ecosystem.
Adeptia’s ecosystem integration solution enables companies to adopt an outward-in approach, helping them engage and empower their customer experiences.
Q. Last but not least, what is your opinion on digital transformation? How Adeptia Connect helps enterprises ride the digital transformation wave?
Companies today, however big or small, are embracing digital transformation for stimulating growth, improving customer journey, improving operations and tapping into fresh opportunities. Many organizations are tracking metrics like Net Promoter Score (NPS) to measure success of their digital transformation efforts.
However, still, many businesses lack the required urgency to catch the digital transformation wave. The reasons for this hesitation are many, including lack of vision, technology and expertise etc.
This hesitation can be addressed with clear mandate from the executive team, agreed upon metrics and a strategy to identify and handle the gaps including in the technology systems.
According to me, companies attempting to digitally transform must focus on several technology paradigms, including ecosystem integration platform, Anyone, Anywhere Anytime Onboarding, Self-Service Approach, and Large File Data Streaming. Adeptia’s integration solution offers all these crucial features to help enterprises deliver delightful customer experience, increase IT & business productivity, and accelerate revenues.
