Samsung recently launched it’s super premium Galaxy Fold device line in India. And despite all the conversation around economy slowdown, despite the fact that India has always been a price conscious market, Samsung managed to sell over 1,600 Galaxy Fold devices in under 30 minutes – the complete initial stock it took to market.
That may not be a very large number when you consider the number of smartphones sold in the Indian market, but when you consider the price of an individual Galaxy Fold, 1600 becomes very important indeed.
Priced at INR 1,64,999, the device will be delivered through a dedicated concierge service on October 20, and the folks purchasing the device will also have an expert available to help them with operating the device, 24*7. Finally, everyone who has purchased one out of the initial stock of 1,600 devices, will also receive access to one year of Infinity Flex Display Protection.
The device comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. In terms of screen, which is the most important feature, there is a 4.6-inch screen experience for normal day-to-day tasks. However, you can easily unfold the screen and transition to a bigger, immersive 7.3-inch form factor , with the plastic OLED (P-OLED) display can bending like a book.
Along with the device, you also get Galaxy buds and a highly robust Aramid fibre case. As suggested by the large screen, you can really put on your multi-tasking gloves. In terms of camera, you get a total of 6 lenses: A three camera-system — a 16MP Ultra Wide Camera, a 12MP Wide-angle Camera and a 12MP Telephoto Camera — at the rear, and 10+8 MP dual-selfie camera.
The device is backed by a 4380 mAh dual battery system and can charge itself and a second device at once via the innovative Wireless Power Share system. Powered by Snapdragon 855, Galaxy Fold runs Android 9 with One UI.
