Lenovo has today sent out media invites for a launch event in India on October 16. While the company has not revealed which phone it is launching, the invite hints at the successor of the K8 Note launched last year.
The media invite shows the silhouette of a smartphone featuring a metal frame in the middle and rounded corners. There’s also a tagline that reads “Killer Returns”, suggesting that the smartphone could be a part of Lenovo’s K-series line instead of belonging to an all-new series.
It’s likely that the Chinese company is planning to launch the Lenovo K5 or the K5 Plus that was launched in September last year. It could also launch the Lenovo Z5 under a new name in the Indian market. To know for sure, we’ll have to wait for the company to officially launch the device.
The Lenovo Z5, which was launched earlier this year in China, features a 6.2-inch notched Full HD+ display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. The phone packs 6GB of RAM, 16MP + 8MP dual rear cameras, 8MP front-facing camera, and is backed by a 3300mAh capacity battery.
