This delivery service has been named ‘Dash’. While this was in the initial pilot space for a few months, this new development is live in seven cities across the country — Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.

Kunal Suri, COO of Foodpanda India said,

The new business partnerships with the restaurants are aimed to provide better services and to further expand our delivery network across the country.

With technology as the backbone and relentless focus on operations, we have achieved excellent two way optimization of our resources. We are currently able to deliver orders within 35 mins on average, which we further plan to improve on.

With Dash, we plan to extend this benefit to our restaurant partners thereby strengthening the delivery ecosystem across the nation

This new service can be divided into two options offered to partner restaurants — the first is an integrated solution in which all orders placed at the restaurant will be fulfilled by Dash delivery riders and the second where restaurants can ask for the delivery service according to need. This second type of agreement will see Foodpanda charge restaurants per order.

According to a press statement, Foodpanda is currently fulfilling about 45% of the total orders that come in, through its delivery service. The company has partnered with about 500 restaurants since the initiative and is expected to increase by three times this number in three months.

Saurabh Kochhar, the CEO of Foodpanda India said,

We have rigorously invested into the technology to make the delivery experience seamless for the users. Now with our new delivery product offering, we intend to be a significant support system for our partners by easing the hassle of delivery for them and extend best-in-class service levels to more customers; furthering our resolve to change the way India eats!

Foodpanda’s biggest competitors in the marketplace are Zomato, Swiggy, Runnr, Shadowfax, UberEATS, Google Areo, as well as newly announced one stop app by Flipkart — which is still being ideated.
