Today, Samsung has launched a new variant of its budget 4G smartphones — J7 Prime and J5 Prime in India. The new model comes with 32GB of internal storage. The development was confirmed by Samsung as it tweeted about the same and has listed the devices on its website.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime with 32GB storage is priced at ₹16,900 while the Galaxy J5 Prime for the same storage version is priced at ₹14,900. The phones will now also be available in offline stores, along with authorized Samsung resellers.

Apart from the bump in the storage capacity, there is no other change in these phone’s specifications. To remind you of the specs, the Galaxy J7 Prime comes with a 5.5-inch TFT display with full HD resolution and is powered by an octa-core processor but the company hasn’t specified which processor.
It comes with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, which is expandable to 256GB via microSD. The rear camera is 13MP with f/1.9 aperture and 8MP camera on the front. It supports 4G FDD LTE and TDD LTE and this is a dual SIM smartphone. There is also a fingerprint sensor.
On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy J5 Prime comes with 5-inch HD TFT display and is powered by a quad-core processor, which is clocked at 1.4GHz. It is coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, which is expandable via microSD card. This is also a dual-SIM smartphone with 4G connectivity supported for India.
As of the optics, it has a 13MP rear camera, while the front camera is 5MP. This one is powered by a 2400 mAh battery. As of connectivity, it supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0.
Both Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime and J7 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The company has also included its unique software features like Ultra Data Saver Mode, S Power Planning for saving and conserving battery, as well as S Secure mode for extra security and privacy.
The smartphones have a metal unibody design with 2.5D glass on the front. The J7 Prime and J5 Prime, priced at ₹16,900 and ₹14,900, respectively, will be available in Black and Gold color options.
