Impatient Indians and Nokia enthusiasts, today is your day! HMD Global, the Finnish manufacturer who has shouldered the heavy task of keeping the Nokia brand alive, has today announced that their iconic feature phone, Nokia 3310 with a modern twist will finally be available for purchase in India on May 18 — which is unusually earlier going by rumor mill predictions.

The device will only be made available via offline stores, at an interesting price of ₹3,310. The device is making a massive comeback after an excruciatingly long 17 years. The Nokia 3310 was first unveiled at HMD Global’s significant MWC (Mobile World Congress 2017) launch event in March earlier this year. We’ve been awaiting this launch day ever since.

Speaking on the device’s launch in India, Ajey Mehta, VP India, HMD, Global said

Talk all day on a single charge, send texts, take pictures and enjoy a pocket jukebox with a built-in FM Radio and MP3 player. Our reinvention of this classic design is sure to make you smile. It’s got everything you remember, but with a modern twist.

So whether you’re after a feature phone that offers amazing battery life in a head-turning design or a companion phone, the Nokia 3310 won’t let you down.

As for the device, the new Nokia 3310 has been reimagined with a modern and colorful twist — especially with a dash of Nostalgia. It has replaced the monochrome screen on the original model with a bright new 2.4-inch QVGA color screen. This feature phone also brings along a few modern upgrades such as Bluetooth, 2MP rear camera with flash, 16MB internal storage with MicroSD card support, an app store and much more. It has an astounding 22-hour talk-time (dualSIM support in a dual band — 900/1800 MHz) and a month long battery standby time. It runs on Nokia Series 30+ OS.

The company is making Nokia 3310 available in four color variants — Warm Red and Yellow with a glossy finish, and Dark Blue and Grey with a matte finish. While the new device is much thinner than the original bulky device, the latter two variants will most likely feel same as the iconic device — both aesthetically and in touch.

So, if you’re looking for a touch of Nostalgia in your life then pick up one of these dumb phones from your nearest mobile store later this week. And while it is the era of feature-packed smartphones, don’t forget to flaunt Nokia 3310’s new snake game to your friends and family. Maybe, you can finally send screenshots of your high score on the family WhatsApp group.
