Twitter is really doubling down upon live content. And why shouldn’t it. The company’s affairs perked up for the first time in a long time recently following a similar set of strategies. Today, the company has announced a partnership with Live Nation that will grant the former exclusive rights to livestream videos of various concerts.

In a tweet from its  Marketing handle (@TwitterMktg) the company said:

Artists that will board the social networking platform’s live streaming bandwagon with this announcement include Train, Zac Brown Band, and Marian Hill. The company has a slew of of other partnerships going as well including those with MTV Awards shows and a coverage of Fashion Week in a slew of cities. And of course, there is a constant, 24/7 news network deal with Bloomberg too.

In short, there is no reason to doubt Twitter’s commitment to its live content strategy. And the company is not alone in adopting this strategy either. Facebook is also leaning heavily upon live content to name but one competitor. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see what kind of fruits Twitter’s efforts towards bringing live content to the point of its strategy yield.
