As per a recent survey by Dutch HR consulting firm Randstad, Google India is currently the most attractive employer brand in the country — an outcome similar to last year. This further increases attraction towards Google in the job market, making it stand out of the competition. Its investments towards employer branding are certainly apparent through such reports, which help the tech giant retain and attract the right kind of talent.
This year, Randstad captured the views of around 3,500 respondents in India. They helped them decide the nation’s most attractive employer brand for 2017. While Mercedez Benz bagged the second position, other major such as Amazon India (e-commerce), ITC Ltd (FMCG) and Philips India (Consumer & Healthcare), registered their win under sector-specific awards.
The ceremony was held today in Gurgaon, Haryana at the Leela Ambience — the 7th time in India. The organizers further announced that IT and communication followed by FMCG, retail, and automobiles are the most preferred sectors in the country. Speaking of HR space in the country, Moorthy K. Uppaluri, Managing Director & CEO, Randstad India said,
At this juncture, understanding workforce trends, expectations and key employee value proposition drivers are imperative for organisations. They have come to realise the value of employer branding and the returns from such investments.
One of the crucial points highlighted at the event was that — in the current scenario, pay cheques are not the only deciding factors for employee stickiness towards their job. The trends this year indicate that work-life balance and growth opportunities have become key deciding factors for an employee to stay in a company. Job security, timely increments, incentives, and compensation packages along with travel and insurance benefits, all equally determine the attractiveness of an employer.
In an economy driven by knowledgeable and hard working employees, employer branding continues to be of strategic importance influencing the talent agenda in India.
