amazon pay, amazon

Amazon Prime members have a new service at their disposal. And this one is actually pretty useful if clothes and whether what you are wearing today is in trend or not, is a big deal to you. The company has launched a service called ‘Outfit Compare’, which does exactly what you think it does.

Prime Members can find the Outfit Compare option under the “Programs and Features” section in the sidebar navigation. The company has taken to launching new features and services through here so that isn’t a surprise. You might need to update your app befire you spot the newest addition though,

So how does Outfit Compare work? You are prompted to share two pictures of yourself wearing two different outfits. Once you do, an amazon stylist will let you know which of the outfits looks better on you. Of course, it is a matter of perspective and what looks good to one may only look second fiddle to another. However, Amazon says that the decision will be made after considering factors like fitting, color, trending and so on.

You are advised to take pictures with the same background and the same pose but selfies are cool too. All these pictures are viewed only by Amazon staff and you have full control. For instance, you can delete the pictures once you have received the advice you seek and they will be removed from your Amazon account as well — so no worries you see.

Also, while the quickness of response bring the possibility of AI intervention to mind, everything is actually done by human editors. The company has hired a slew of specialized fashion stylist and it is actually them, who will be working to provide you with their advice on what to wear. Options on the style scale include “Definitely pick this one,” “We like this better,” and “It was a close call.”

Of course, Amazon isn’t profiting in a visible way. But, the feature could bring more footfalls to the Amazon eventually, the stylists could even recommend stuff folks can buy from Amazon to compliment their outfit and make it better.

The feature is currently limited to prime members though and non prime members are recommended to sign up and become prime once they click on the “Outfit Compare” option in the Amazon application.
