At the ICTENSW conference for professional development and technology educators, Senior Advisor for STEM Education at the Department of Education and Training, Dr. Roslyn Prinsley says that the Digital Technologies Hub provides students, teachers, and the learning community to access lesson plans, professional development and learning courses, and enable students to take part in coding competitions.

“Students can unleash their creativity by learning to build phone apps, create their own websites, suited to the intended users or create innovative solutions to everyday problems— there are the skills that will prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow.” Prinsley said.

The priority of the website was to provide easy access and use to the new Digital Technologies curriculum and incorporate it in their educational programs.

“A wide variety of teachers, no matter their discipline or experience with technology, will benefit from this resource,” she further said.

CEO of Education Services Australia, Andrew Smith said that the website will prove to have an altering impact on educators and students.

Incorporating Digital Technologies into everyday lessons is the future of Australian education.

The Digital Technologies Hub includes up-to-date learning resources and activities that will equip students and teachers with the skills and capabilities they need to flourish in the digital world.
