Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 now faces a delayed for a second time, as the developer CI Games confirmed earlier today. The first person open world shooter will now be rolling out worldwide for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 25. A full 21 day delay from its previously set release date.
The three-week delay will seemingly allow the developer to implement changes that were inspired by fan feedback after the recent beta which took place hosting a legion of fans worldwide.
CI Games’ CEO Marek Tyminski said the following in an interview:
We’ve worked tirelessly creating a whole new Sniper: Ghost Warrior experience set in an ambitiously crafted open world new to the series, while it’s an unfortunate decision to delay the game one last time, we believe these final changes will result in a better experience for players worldwide on day one. hank you for your patience—we know the wait will be worth it.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 was originally supposed to launch on April 4, which itself was a long delay from the previously intended January 2017 release. That postponement was said to be in aid of further polish and optimisation. Fingers crossed, I hope the extended wait is actually worth it.
Ghost Warrior 3 marks a massive sideline from the previous titles in the sniper series, as it shifts to the style of a complete open-world game and now even features multiplayer. You can take a look at the game in action with some beta gameplay.
An unrelated but competing franchise from developer Rebellion Developments called Sniper Elite recently saw its latest release. Sniper Elite 4, which launched in February and got fantastic reviews all over. Here’s to wishing that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 can perform just as well or even better than its counterpart.
