Singapore has been attracting eyeballs of various multinational corporations and renowned firms for all the right reasons. Capgemini, the France-based global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing services, is the latest addition to the ‘list’ that seems to be captivated by the rising ecosystem of the island-nation.

It recently announced the launch of its newest Applied Innovation Exchange (AIE) in Singapore. The company’s chain of innovation labs is spread across the world, with this being the first AIE in Southeast Asia and 10th globally. The AIE will offer a robust service catalogue, within an ecosystem of other AIEs with a special focus on areas such as data analytics, visualization, artificial intelligence and cognitive computing.

In line with Singapore’s ‘Smart Nation’ vision, the exchange will strengthen the nation’s reputation as an innovation hub by expanding its innovation capacity and facilitating the development of local talent, to co-create a technology-enabled future.

Lanny Cohen, Global Chief Technology Officer and the member of the Group Executive Committee at Capgemini says businesses are aiming towards embracing and applying innovation in a secure and sustainable way, keeping in view the scale and speed. He believes this requires a novel approach in which firms focus on corporate innovation by associating with a broad innovation ecosystem. He adds,

With its vibrant start-up scene and business friendly environment, Singapore is the vanguard of Asia’s rise as an innovation superpower and the perfect location for Capgemini to establish our first AIE in Southeast Asia.

The AIE will work with Capgemini’s partners and academic institutions in Singapore, to develop a databank of knowledge and expertise specifically for Singapore. Also, it will work with existing AIEs located at London, Munich, Mumbai, Paris, and San Francisco.

The AIE framework basically enables organizations to foster a structured approach to drive the innovation process comprising four phases – Discover, Devise, Deploy, and Sustain. Companies specializing in various fields including automotive, manufacturing, and energy and utilities have used this framework to accelerate real and sustainable growth opportunities for their businesses.

In addition, the new AIE will act as a gateway to broader and deeper knowledge by offering firms operating in Singapore and neighboring nations an access to a wider global ecosystem of emerging technologies and innovation collaborators. They will get to the entirety of Capgemini’s leading innovation capabilities and expertise.
