Twitter had enough of the Dashboard applications and disposed of the Tweetdeck app last year. The Dashboard service was available in public beta but before it could go public, Twitter killed it. The dashboard was meant to help businesses discover conversations that involved their brands, schedule tweets, receive insights and so on and so forth. Now, Twitter seems to mull over a similar idea and is testing a new feature in its Windows 10 app.
As initially observed by MSPoweruser, news tabs were seen in the Windows 10 compatible Twitter app. These tabs will allow users to search profiles, lists, direct messages, and search results all within a tabbed interface.
The said feature is identical to the columns interface of the Tweetdeck. The development is still underway and, thus, it may take some time to reach all Windows 10 devices. It is also possible that the company may roll out the feature for all platforms including iOS.
Tweetdeck was one of the most beneficial Twitter clients, especially for business people. The rebirth of the app via the tabs feature will flood joy to those disheartened by removal of Tweetdeck from the Windows Store.
Twitter is still to confirm the development, however, if some glitch is observed, just remember the said feature is certainly being tested out.
Apart from this, Twitter is currently working towards the elimination (or possible reduction!) of abusive tweets. The micro-blogging platform recently rolled out a new feature that will limit the post reach of accounts identified as abusive, temporarily. Called “Time Out,” the feature ensures that accounts that spew abusive content, only reach those who have willingly chosen to follow them.
If the tabs feature rolls out anytime soon, it will bring back the declining users of the platform. It will also assist businesses to manage their image and posts through a handy tab.
