In an effort to uplift the momentum further up, Vivo detailed the specifications of its upcoming devices- Vivo V5 plus on its official website. The smartphone’s launch has been scheduled for the next week, releasing on January 23, featuring a new metal body unlike the previous devices by the company. The price and channel of sales have not been revealed, which is expected to be announced only at the event.

The Vivo V5Plus stands by the Vivo’s tagline ‘a perfect selfie’ and presents us with a 20MP front camera along with a secondary 8MP front camera to capture depth-of-field information. The phone is also embedded with a Selfie Softlight which will cause lighting effects similar to that of a professional photography.

This dualSIM phone further sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display in hand with a 2.5D Glass on the front, complementing the overall look. The device is powered by a 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip coupled with 4GB of RAM. Moreover, it runs Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Shedding further Light on the Vivo’s specialty, the camera has been co-engineered with Sony’s IMX376 1/2.78-inch sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens system. The camera department also has been provided with Bokeh Mode algorithms to generate an amazing blurred effect. It, hence, gives a competition to the identical feature present in iPhone 7 Plus. The phone is packed with a 16 MP rear camera with a LED flash and updated software optimization algorithm.

The phone comes with a storage capacity of 64GB that is expandable up to 256 GB using microSD card. A 3160mAh battery is packed within the device along with quick charging. The phone will also be available in Gold color with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button. The phone presents all basic connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.

The company also announced about its next device in the lineup —  Vivo V5 Lite. While the Vivo V5 Plus will be a premium phone, the said phone will be a budget device. The difference between the phones lies in the device’s processor which is a 64-bit octa-core processor inside with 3GB RAM. The phone will also have a lower storage capacity of 32 GB which will be expandable upto 128 GB only.

Further, in the camera department, the device will feature a 13MP rear camera along with a 16MP front-facing camera. Unlike the V5Plus, the phone doesn’t support a fingerprint sensor. The other minor difference lies at the core i.e the phone’s battery. The V5Lite holds a 3,000 mAh battery. It will be rolled out in two color options — Rose and Gold. The other major features for both of the phones remain same.

The phone will be initially sold in Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines, though there has been no say on the pricing of the device.
