As analytics and data science come into the mainstream, people are finding that they need a more nuanced way of describing what they do to preserve their individuality. It is no longer enough to say “I analyze data”, or “I help take data driven decisions”, a quick look at LinkedIn profiles now throws up neat descriptions like “Tortures data for a living”, or “Data Munger par excellence”, or “Wrangles data when bored” to even “Data enlightenment seeker”.

It is clear that no number of job descriptions is going to be sufficient in a field where everyone wants to be unique. More power to their very tiny clans.
