Arnab Goswami, the most outspoken journalist with an abundance of opinion on our country’s day-to-day proceedings and the undermined topics is coming back. And we can’t wait anymore. Post his departure from Times Now, the channel which helped him show off his vigorous attitude and rise to fame, the former Editor-in-Chief has today quietly announced the launch of his new independent venture.

Called Republic, the specifics of this new venture are extremely scarce and Goswami himself hasn’t dispensed much information about the same. After thanking the nation for the support, he spoke to numerous publications and stated that the name of his venture while adding that he sought ‘support of the people of India.’ The same people who’ve seen him on their TV sets and supported some of the loud and condescending allegations put forth by him.

Certain reports suggest that Goswami will be making a return to your television sets in the coming months. Republic is currently a work in progress and the new venture’s PR team will share specifics once the primary action plan is put in place. Also, Arnab Goswami is aiming to launch his new venture before the upcoming crucial Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The emphatic President and Editor-in-Chief of Times Now and its sister firm ET Now stepped down from all his roles on 1 November 2016 and caused a media outrage. The journalist cum anchor who gained immense fame for his speaking antics and his attitude towards media on his daily prime-time debate show called ‘The News Hour’ is aiming for something completely different and independent. He had moved out of his decade-long partnership with the media outlet due to differences in opinion with the management.

The spat between Arnab Goswami and the Jains was evident with respect to the strained relations between India and Pakistan. This relation had further turned sour when the company started receiving complaints about Goswami portraying a particularly right-wing inclination in his debate show — watched by a hoard of masses, even if they hate it or love it.

At that moment of time, there was no intervention from the Jains who favored ratings over content but Goswami, as sources suggest, was looking a bigger chunk of the pie (a bigger role in the company)  and that couldn’t be fulfilled. Thus, he decided to move on and start his own visionary venture. Earlier, in several interviews, Goswami had dropped hints about his new venture stating ‘Independent media is going to thrive. The game has just begun.’

Now we’ll have to wait and watch what this candid journalist stands for. And will he continue to be extremely outspoken and on TV in this venture as well? Comment your thoughts down below.
