Ready to shell out that kidney-selling amount for the brand new, nothing so new iPhone ? The brand new iPhones — which at most have some new colors to come up with — are launching in India via Redington on October 7th. You can buy them across 3000 retail stores, across India.
For this, Redington will also organize a special events at some select cities and key stores. Redington is an end-to-end supply chain solution provider which, along with India, is present in Middle East, Africa, etc.
While Apple had officially announced the launch date of the device, it has not yet revealed the pricing. However, it has said that the pricing will start from Rs. 60,000, which means that the iPhone 7 32GB variant will be priced at Rs. 60,000.
While the company decided to keep the iPhone’s design almost same as last year’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S, it still managed to make it stand-out.
The iPhone 7 features a 4.7-inch display with 3D touch, whereas the iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch Retina HD display with 3D touch. Both are powered by a new quad-core Apple A10 Fusion processor, which the company claims is 40% faster that Apple A9. But again, do not expect much difference between the overall functionality of the two processors.
One of the more courageous move from Apple, is the company letting-go of the 3.5mm headphone jack in this new iteration. It is now providing users with a lighting to 3.5 mm convertor that can let you plug headphones in using the iPhone’s charging port.
Also, the home button has been removed and is now replaced with the newly introduced taptic touch technology that is also being used in the newly released Macbooks.
Another feature that has been introduced in the latest smartphones is the IP67 rating signifying the fact that it is water and dust resistant.
As for the photography, the rear camera comes with 12 Mega Pixels of pure photography with a six element lens and f/1.8 aperture, while the front camera has been bumped up to 7 MPs from the 5 MP. On the other hand the iPhone 7 Plus has dual 12MP rear cameras one wide-angle with f/1.8 aperture and a telephoto lens with f/2.8 aperture for new depth-of-field and has OIS along with Quad-LED True Tone flash.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available in Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, Black colour options in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants. However, the new Jet Black colour variant will be available in only 128GB and 256GB variants.
