And Practo is furthering its operations in more emerging markets. After launching in Indonesia last September, the healthcare platform which lets you schedule appointments from doctors in a convenient manner, has launched its operations in the biggest Latin american economy, Brazil.

The expansion of its operations to Brazil, is a part of company’s expansion plan into the emerging countries across globe.

Beginning from Sao Paulo, Practo will be introducing two of its services in the country – Practo Search and Practo Ray. Both the services will be available in two languages – Portuguese and English. In the second half of this year, the company is planning to expand to Rio de Janeiro and other cities in Brazil as well, and will list all healthcare professionals.

As a part of this expansion process, the company will send a team of few people from India to start operations in the new region and begin setting up the team and office there.

The company will offer its usuals — Practo Search — which enables users to search through its database of verified doctors and find one that suits their needs, as well as get feedback from other users and Practo Ray — its B2B SaaS platform that simplifies scheduling, calendaring, billing and inventory management for doctors, along with creating digital health records and prescriptions within the app.

As per the company, consumers will be able to search for more than 55,000 verified doctors, covering nearly 50% of all clinics in Sao Paulo.

The company is currently focused on growing its presence in emerging markets, where healthcare market faces a challenge due to infrastructure and other constraints.

Recently, in September 2015, Practo launched its operations in Indonesia, covering over 75 percent of all clinics across Jakarta. It also has presence across major Southeast Asian countries like Singapore and Philippines.

Practo, which was founded by Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal and is currently among the most heavily capital-backed startups globally in the health tech sector ($124 Million), is currently present in 15 countries and over 50 cities across the globe. It lists more than 200,000 doctors and 10,000 hospitals on its platform.

The Healthcare startup has ade a few acquisitions as well, in order to grow its presence and market, which includes Instahealth, Qikwell, Fitho and Genii.
