Zenatix, the IoT powered clean tech startup which provides an analytics-driven, energy saving solution to its customers, has raised yet another follow-up round from Blume Ventures. The firm had invested an undisclosed amount in seed, earlier this year.

With fresh cash coming in, Zenatix will utilise the same in hiring top talent in the domain, upgrade its existing tech infra and fuel expansion. Currently working only in Delhi-NCR, the startup aims to expand its presence across Mumbai and Bangalore.

The startup — according to various media reports — had raised close to ₹1.27 Crore five months back, from a group of angel investors. These included Google’s India head Rajan Anandan, along with Snapdeal Cofounders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, and Trifecta Capital’s Rahul Khanna

Founded in 2013, Zenatix provides a smart energy management solution to its consumers which helps the latter save, close to 10% of their current energy consumption. Zenatix’s platform use data collected from its monitoring equipment, which it installs in addition to the already installed Government meters.

CEO Rahul Bhalla said,

We have a SaaS (software-as-a-service)-based engagement model, where the customer pays a fixed monthly or annual fee. The energy savings delivered by our analytics solution far outweigh our fee. Typically, the customers become cash flow positive by a significant amount from second month onwards.

Once Zenatix’s smart monitors are up and running, they send continuous, real-time data to its cloud platform, which in-turn sends that data to the consumers in the form of a dashboard.

The data from smart meters is stored in the cloud, and can be visualized on Zenatix’s software. The platform then runs advanced analytics on the collected data and recommends energy saving measures, along with benchmarking your consumptions.

The platform could work really well in two very critical use-case scenarios — one where consumers are charged on a TOD (time-of-day) usage basis, the other wherein older equipment is the primary cause for increased energy usage.

In the former’s case, if you don’t know as to whether certain non-critical loads can be moved to the off-peak hours or not, Zenatix’s solution will help you. And in case you’ve outdated equipment at place even with the availability of state-of-the-art equipment available in the market, Zenatix’ solution will help build a business case supported by precise data and indication of ROI period.
