Owing to the intense hype as to why Apple wasn’t clear on Apple Music subscriber numbers and launch of the much anticipated Apple TV, CEO Tim Cook has now spoken on both fronts — and in decent details.

Apple Music, the streaming service package which the Cupertino giant released earlier this year, now has 6.5 million paying customers, with 8.5 million users on a trial period, according to Apple chief executive Tim Cook, speaking from the WSJDLive technology conference late Monday.

While that was all that Cook said about Apple Music, he did went into details regarding the pre-order and subsequent shipping of the much-delayed Apple TV.

Cook confirmed that pre-orders for the new Apple TVs will be available from next Monday, with the devices shipping by the end of next week. Also hinting towards possible major overhauls to Apple’s television sets, Cook said that there is more to come on the Apple TV front, calling it just the foundation of an entirely new TV experience.

He added,

The first thing that has to be done when you buy a house is lay the foundation.

adding that the current experience of TV for most people is “terrible, broken“.
