Continuing to make aggressive inroads in everything one could possibly relate to food, Zomato has today announced a massive 14 city expansion of its online ordering service, Zomato Order. The service till date, was under a test phase in a select number of eating joints in Delhi/NCR.

As a part of this expansion driver, Zomato users can now order food via the app itself, in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Indore, Chandigarh, Kochi, Jaipur, Coimbatore. Zomato has partnered with a massive 10,000 restaurants for this initial phase with more partners incoming.

To order food, user can simply select online ordering option via the current Zomato app/website itself. Do note though, that ordering is also available via a separate Zomato Order app, which is available on iOS, Android and now Windows Phone as well.

Zomato, keeping Indian eating-out trends in mind, has included more of affordable resturants in these places as compared to the more luxurious ones. This comes on the back of researched numbers, wherein over 75% of Indians prefer to dine at places with CFT (Cost For two) ranging between INR 500- INR 1000.

Founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal re-iterated Zomato’s focus on helping restaurants with customer acquisition.

As a part of this announcement, Zomato also announced the launch of Windows Phone app of Zomato Order, its exclusive food ordering app. However, you can still order food voa the original Zomato app/website.

Here’s a quick overview of the features packed in the new Windows App :

  • Digitized menus for thousands of restaurants to order from.
  • Name and location search, to see places that deliver to your location.
  • Address book to save frequently used locations to order food even faster.
  • Order status tracking with messages and notifications.
  • Order History and quick re-order for saved/favorite orders.
