After over two years of existence, Sony has finally decided to give its flagship gaming console, the long-demanded media playback capability. The announcement came at a pre-E3 PlayStation 4 press event today.

The new update will start rolling to PS4 consoles by tonight, however reception of the same to various consoles may vary. Media Playback has been the most demanded feature in PlayStation 4, a feature available in its predecessor and Xbox One as well.

Microsoft specially, used PlayStation 4’s disadvantage to market its own console, by launching it equipped with Media playback capabilities at the very outset. However, PS4’s sheer brilliance on all fronts gaming, made sure that it outsold any other available console by a huge margin.

The latest feature will be announced at Sony’s show at E3 tonight, so stay tuned as we bring in live updates from the event.
