Customised products market hasn’t seen much activity lately. Breaking that boredom, ICustomMadeIt, an online marketplace for customized merchandise has today raised $250K in latest round of funding from investors Virendra Shahaney and Paresh Doshi.

Founded in 2013 by Raj Iyer and Kundan Dhake on a belief that customization is the core of any merchandise today, Pune-HQed ICustomMadeIt lets you choose products and the designs you want over them via its online platform. In December 2014, the company raised about $150K in a seed funding round.

With fresh seed round, the startup is now planning to go global and server international users in the coming six moths.

Raj Iyer, Chairman at Icustomamadeit said,

There is a general misconception that customisation of products, including bespoke ones, is an expensive affair, compared to regular merchandise purchases.

Virendra Shahaney, one of the investors in the company, said,

You must give people what they want. The concept looked very interesting to me, and things can be designed as per the user needs.

If you want a product with specific design, you need to post it on Icustommadeit’s portal. Just sign up and submit a custom project request by filling up their project form. You can also reach out to a specific creator whose work you find interesting by sending him/her a special invite.

Once you decide who you would like to work with, you’ll receive a detailed proposal outlining cost, milestones, shipping and time-frame on your Instant Messaging Box/Mailbox. You can also track the progress of your project on daily, weekly and milestone basis.

The company currently claims to be getting about 10 orders a day on an average and has over 8,000 items across 33 categories which range from apparel to automobile accessories, jewellery to furniture, etc. It also claims to have engaged nearly 900 users on its customization platform.
