Apart from the two new iPads and the OS X Yosemite Public Release, Apple today announced, its first desktop, to feature Retina Display. Desktops may have become outdated these days, but this Retina iMac is definitely here to stay.

Wrapped up in one of the thinnest iMac (or for that matter, any desktop) body till date, this new iMac’s most boastful feature is, the huge, really huge and eye popping 27 inch 5K Retina display, that’s a whole lot to digest together.

The display, which we won;t even expect to see in any other desktop, defeats every possible competitor (if any) by huge margins. And it is not just because of the staggering display quality, it is also because of all of this :

  • 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor
  • AMD’s mobile Radeon 290X graphics chip
  • Both the features are upgradable to a 4.0 GHz Core i7 and a mobile Radeon 295X GPU, respectively.

Pricing, although a tad higher, will still go, considering the kind of specifications this desktop provides. You can buy the new iMac, today itself. It starts at $2,499.
