U.S. based, not-so-popular video game service, Ouya has now decided to move into Asian market. Ouya has partnered with Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, to enter into Chinese markets.

Ouya would be expanding by using Xiaomi’s Smart TV platform and Smart Box platform. Recently, a research report had shown that Xiaomi has become the top smartphone vendor in China, surpassing China. Talking to <Re/code>Ouya Chief Executive Julie Uhrman said that Ouya will be getting a dedicated section on Xiaomi’s various platforms.

Uhrman told Reuters,

For the likes of Xiaomi’s MiTV, its set-top boxes and other Android set-top boxes that are entering the market, this could be a turning point … in bringing great content and developers to gamers and into a region that they have never had access to before.
