We earlier reported via our News Brief section that Google has bought Jetpac for an undisclosed amount. Now, certain confirmed reports have come up, indicating, that the deal might be worth,  $3.2 Million.

The search giant makes another move to ward off Facebook by acquiring the company behind the photo editing-and-sharing app Snapseed.

Google has purchased JetPac, a startup that launched in 2012 and analyzes Instagram photos to build what it calls City Guides for travelers — stuff like which bars have the most women (or men), or which beaches have the best views. According to the JetPac website,

We’re joining Google! Thank you for all your interest and support. We look forward to working on exciting projects with our colleagues at Google. We’ll be removing Jetpac’s apps from the App Store in the coming days, and ending support for them on 9/15.

This move will help Google improve its image search venture. And with this, we look forward to a more interactive Google Search!
