And it is that time of the year again. Apple has just sent out invites to the press cadre for its much rumored September 10 unveiling event. And as every year, expect some shiny new iPhones at the launch, along with service related announcements.
The event is set to happen at the iconic new Steves Jobs Theater on the company’s shiny new Cupertino campus. The invite however, quite cleverly puts “by innovation only”, thus limiting audience size due to the reduced capacity of the Jobs theater.
The immediate and most obvious attraction for the event will obviously be the all new iPhone 11 (or some other name maybe?). However, departing from last year’s naming conventions, Apple could release 3 iPhone 11 models, the iPhone 11, and two iPhone 11 Pro models. Ofcourse, things will get cemented at the actual event.
The company could focus more towards the lower price point segment. Apple has been seeing a rather plateaued growth in the traditional western markets, and could now turn its heads towards the fastest growing major smartphone market — India. The company is already loosing it fast to the likes of Xiaomi and global rival Samsung. A fresh new, “low-priced” iPhone launch however, could turn things around pretty swiftly.
In terms of other auxiliary launches, one could expect improved Airpods along with the new iPhone models.
