Highlighting the growing startup ecosystem and subsequent applications to its prestigious accelerator program, Y Combinator has announced that it will be hosting interviews for its Summer 2019 batch in India as well. This will be the first time that YC is hosting interviews outside of the US.
Talking about these proposed interviews, a blog post form Y Combinator says, “We’ve received an increasing number of applications from India and this will allow us to interview more Indian founders. So far, we’ve funded over 40 companies from India, including Cleartax, Meesho and Razorpay.”
YC has also made it clear that the interviews will be as regular in nature as any of its other interview process. There is no difference to the application, what the accelerator will look for in an application, and the overall criteria for acceptance. If accepted, startups will join the YC Summer 2019 batch immediately. The in-person program starts in June in Mountain View, California, but funding and access to YC partners and resources will be provided right away.
The interviews are scheduled to take place between May 7th and May 9th, 2019. The deadline to apply for the same is Friday, April 12th at 8pm IST. Selected startups will receive a confirmation by April 16th. YC has also answered a few FAQs in detail, right here. To apply, you can register here.
