Huawei has announced its new mid-range smartphone Huawei Y9 2019 in the Indian market. This launch also marks the debut of the Y-series smartphones in the Indian market.

While the phone is offered in three versions in China, the Indian variant only comes in the 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. The Indian variant gets a triple SIM card slot that can house two SIM cards and one microSD card at the same time.
Coming to the camera department, the smartphone features a dual camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor. At the front, the handset features a 13-megapixel primary camera – also mated to a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
In terms of connectivity options, the Huawei Y9 includes support for 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security. It comes with a micro-USB port instead of the trendy USB Type-C port.
The phone comes pre-loaded with EMUI 8.1 atop Android 8.1 Oreo operating system but should receive EMUI 9 based on Android Pie soon. The device is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.
The Huawei Y9 2019 will be sold in India exclusively through Amazon India for a price of Rs. 15,990. It will go on sale in Black and Blue color from 15th January and the company will bundle Rockerz Sports Bluetooth headset worth Rs 2,990 for free.
